OKC Gold: Progress in Motion

We made the trip to the Stars & Stripes Festival hosted by Riversport OKC, and to put it simply, we showed up. From the first race to the last, SLAP Dragons KC brought focus, power, and heart. By the end of the day, we walked away with gold in all three events: the 500m, the 200m, and the always-chaotic (and always-fun) flag-catching race.

Taking home gold in all three events was the goal. But what made it even better was knowing how much we’ve grown. Compared to last year, everything about our racing was stronger: our starts, our timing, our intensity. We didn’t just win, we earned it together, with every stroke.

We made such an impression that assistant coaches from other teams didn’t believe we’ve only been around a couple of years. That kind of recognition is encouraging, but what matters most is the strength we continue to build within our own boat.

Keep the Momentum Rolling

What we achieved in OKC is just the beginning. The discipline, trust, and effort we brought to the water are a reflection of what makes this team special: people showing up for each other, staying present in the moment, and giving their all, no matter the role.

We’ll carry that energy forward as we keep training, keep growing, and keep showing up for one another, on and off the water.
